I went when I first turned 16 in like late feb and slayed the catfish! I have no clue about crappies, or where to really look for bass.

Pie Eye, Jack Russels are very intelligent dogs (terriers). I have seen some guys make their Jack Russels into squirrel dogs. They can be pretty natural squirrel dogs. As you know, I love to hunt with dogs and I have a couple of Champion squirrel dogs, . My Mt Curs are similar to Jack Russels, just a little bigger. These days, squirrel hunting with squirrel dogs is the best hunting with dogs. Squirrels are in every woods, Illinois has a long squirrel season, and it is a great way to enjoy hunting with dogs. I keep coon dogs and beagles also and most of them are Champions. This time of the year, I am into huntin' more than fishin' but as soon as ice out comes, I will be back into fishin'.

I might add a little about Newton. It is not known for crappie but I have some great bass fishing videos. There is a place you can catch big white bass on every cast.
