Shakespeare and pflueger both make inexpensive models, that I personally use, and have had no problems with. I use the underspins on my 10' rods though, on my 12' rods I use one of the B n' M reels that looks kind of like a fly fishing reel.

Yeah the plastic ones. I pretty much only use my 12' rod for vertical jigging, its a B n' M Brushcutter. Its not really used as a reel, basically something to hold line. It has no gear ratio for speedy retrieves, or a drag, but I dont need either for the manner in which I use it.
