    Default Rend Lake Bait Shop

Which of the bait shops at Rend Lake are open now, (this time of year). It is going to be so pretty I think I might want to go over and try some crappie in my favorite spots.

I like to jig but I like minnow better and will need to buy some, 90 miles to there from my house so it is to far to haul the minnows.

The one near North Sandusky campground is easy for me to access.

I have bought them there but they did not live very long I am afraid.

    I appreciate the reminder.

Had that problem too until I started taking a cooler wit me. Only keep a couple dz at a time in the bucket. Seems when you order 3 dz and they give you 5 thats too many in one bucket:D

I've kept them for days at camp this way. Cooler with a bubbler. I also use a floating bait net in the lake and put them in there when I get in. Just pull out what I need. Never had an issue of losing many using these methods.

I dont have issues with them dying from the Shell station. My issue there is that they are often times too big. You dont get a small, medium option. They are in one big tank and usually they are a big medium if not a small large. Mixed in are some usable minnows so I always have to over purchase so I can weed out the sharks.
