    Default 18v ice auger

For those of you who seldom see more than a foot and and a half of ice this has been a good winter to evaluate using an 18v cordless drill to cut 6" holes. Yesterday afternoon on about 14-16" of solid ice with mild temps in the 30's, we got 20 holes out of one lithium battery and it was still going strong. One very important factor is to keep sharp blades and keep your battery charged. I use a Lazer hand drill as the bottom section. That pulls itself right through the ice without needing any weight at all. This is quite a bit lighter than a gas drill, and eliminates any worry about gasoline mixtures, fumes or spills.

I seen a person the other day using one and it looked sweet

I was thinking about setting one up and realized it would coast many dollars so ill stick with my hand auger for thinner ice and use my gas auger for the rest
