With fall approaching soon, now is the time to take the boat out and mark down the hot spots on the gps.
I always visit my spots that I'll be fishing through the ice and do a 3 point marking system. Mark the spot with a bouy and than mark 3 way points around the brush piles. When on the ice I just move a little snow as a marker than go to the next way point and when all 3 are marked the center is the brush pile. Works every time. When I first got my gps it would always that I was always within 8-15 feet of target. It saves from drilling alot of holes.

If the brush piles seem to be getting smaller I'll add some brush and mark down the coordinates in a small note book with the depth the brush is from the surface. Lat and long. also.
