    Default Mud Pounder

Every once in a while it helps to stir things up just a little to incite some activity in the fish. Perch and sunfish can get pretty curious after some bottom content is swirled around down there. Buy a mushroom shaped decoy anchor and tie it to a thirty foot piece of snap line. Use a dowel or a bolt to wrap the line around for stoage in the gear.

Just un-wrap the line and drop the weight to the bottom. Lift/drop the weight vigorously 20 times by lifting/dropping the weight about a foot. If you have perch in the neighborhood they are suckers for this stirred up bottom stuff.
