Default Nils Master High Velocity Hand Auger

Has anybody used the Nils Master High Velocity Hand Augers? I hear they cut faster than others.

Bought a Nils last month, well worth the extra cash. Lighter weight, faster cut and less energy used.

actually they are descent but once the blades get dull they suck just like any other hand auger, honestly a gas auger is way much better, even with dull blades you wont kill yourself drilling holes.. i totally recommend using a gas over hand auger unless you carry plenty of new blades which will end up in a year or 2 costing you what it would for a gas auger anyway

I used the new electric augers last year, we got about 30 holes in 24" of ice on 1 charge. But they have an external link to use a 12v battery. They're heavy and do require some work
just to keep em up, but I probably would've only cut 1 hole by hand per hour. No tune-ups, bad gas, or pulling your butt off. The jury can't reach a verdict. I still carry my hand-auger everywhere, in case I break threw. To bad we can't just use a lazer pointer!!!!

I have one and love it. This winter will be season 4 with mine. Just remember, like any tool you need to take care of them. If I lived up north and had thicker ice I would buy a gas auger.

I've had mine for 3 years and they do cut great. Any auger with dull blades will take extra work. I use mine on lakes that don't allow gas augers or early season when the ice is pretty thin. Its the gas auger otherwise. No regrets here on the Nils.
    Lets fish it!
