Me and a buddy fished Barkley (Cadiz Ky) tuesday the 6th. It rained for about 45 minutes around 6 pm, cloudy the rest of the time. We caught about 15 bass fishing the banks. 7 were keepers, and the two biggest were 2.5 lbs a piece. Caught most off of spinners. I was using a smaller spinner pretty much the whole time hoping to catch a stray crappie. Sure wish I knew some deep structure to catch them in! I lost one bass that must of weighed between 4-5 lbs. Had him right up to the boat. Guess my inexperience and the med action rod with light spincast reel didn't help. Also caught a few small carp and some bluegill fishing with worms under a bobber and then straight line.....BUT, the biggest catch of the day was when we started headed back to the ramp. Had just enough daylight to navigate until this thing jumped in the boat, bounced off my storage box, and landed in my lap while I was operating the tiller. I was running about 15-20 mph. That was the first time I'd ever taken my own boat to Barkley. Guess I'll always have a story to tell!
