ok, I talked a little bit about this with Smitty, but what hotel should I stay at for the tournament and where? I would like to have the closest place to the lake regardless what state it is in. Don't really care if it is real nice, just nice enough to stay in. Is their a small hotel in any of the smaller cities located closer to the lake, or do I need to stay in Valley, Opelika, or Columbus?

By the way, my dad is driving up from Florida to fish the tournament with me and spend some time together. That will be real nice! What a great reason to come fish the tournament! :D

Columbus, ga or Valley, AL will be the best for you. Valley is closest to the lake. Columbus is closer to the campground. Phenix City is another option. I will try to find the most convienient for you. Great to hear your dad is coming to see you. This social event is becoming special when families get together too!
