    Default Oconee 6/30/05

Well - I really hate to do this to all you folks that have to work today.

    Well NOT REALLY!!

Caught this fella trolling this morning at Oconee.

He weighed in at an even 2lbs., right at 15" long.

I caught 12 altogether, and lost 2 REALLY nice ones right at the boat because I couldn't get the net under them fast enough. I was fishing alone this morning. I called into work and just had the urge to hit the water. There was hardly anyone out there today. It was fabulous. I figured it would be my last time probably before we all get together!!

I had to let 5 little 'uns go back to fight another day. They were not filet size just yet. But, I will get them next time as long as they continue to eat healthy.

I am going to try out a new "Blackened Fish" recipe I got my hands on, and that is actually the only reason I kept the fish I did.

It was a great day to be on the lake.

    See ya soon - GABoy!

What time this morning, how deep and what was the water temp? Good job. Glad you are getting this out of your system before the tournament! Nice fish. See you in about 21 days.

I believe I hooked him somewhere around 7:30 - 8:00 am this morning fishing in about 20 - 25 ft of water, probably running jigs about 8 ft deep or so. Water temp was 80.2, but fluctuated depending on where I was anywhere from 79.6 - 81 something....but, this is also the temp from the bottom of the transducer which is about 2.5 ft below the actual surface, therefore it probably reads a little cooler than most surface temp readings that are truly on the surface.

    Thank you!!

Actually, I was just getting warmed up....I only had that one really good one today. I am building up to the Lake Harding tour. Ha ha!! I wish!!!
