    Default Juliette Night Trip 7-2

Got on the water about 7PM, average crowd on water for a holiday, storms went around lake, ran down to power plant and turned left into flemmings cove, eased around from 28' up to 15' marked fish everywhere just above the hydrilla, set two poles out for my son and was baiting mine when he missed the 1st fish, got him rebaited and dropped two of mine down when he missed another one and I had one hit right after putting it in the rod holder, finally put one in the boat about 10" really good looking fish, my son lost one at the boat around a lb because I couldn't get the net back there fast enough, he was sick. Eased around some more and found fish right along the 15-20' line. Stayed till 12 PM but all the fish were caught before 10 PM. Ended up with 7 nice crappie with big fish pushing 1.5 lb, 6 strippers around 2lbs, 3 yellow perch, and a 4 lbs largemouth on a topwater plug while killing time between bites. These fish bit really light. Had to be pulling up as soon as they hit or they were gone. Missed a lot of fish. Stayed away from the timber because we didn't get there early enough to scout it out and when we caught fish on the first drop, didn't see the need to push the issue. Will definately go back for another late afternoon/early night trip soon. One thing about that lake is with no dock lights on the banks it does make the drive back in different. That lake really gets dark once you leave the power plant area make the turn south. The camp ground and ramp are lit up pretty good and the GA Power security make patrol runs through the ramp area during the night. Son and I had a good time and the Mayflies were pretty thick too. He liked catching them as much as the fish. :D

Had minnows left over that needed a good dunk'n. Went again yesterday evening with my other son. Thought we would miss the storms. Went deeper into the timber but didn't mark many fish and no bites. Did find an isolated stump cluster but then the winds got up and looked like some serious rain. Scrambled out towards the ramp and then it slowed down. Checked a cove on the same side as the ramp just in case and found a road bed with a drop from 3 to 15ft w/hydrilla marked a good bit of fish and caught a nice slab over a lb. Wind got up again and lighting close enough for me to head in. This lake definately has some quality fish. Just need some time to figure out some spots that hold the numbers.

Thanks for the report SR .... Since I just recently bought a "Juliette Boat", I'm trying to read as much as I can about Juliette. My son and I haven't had any luck during the day ... we may need to put in after sunset and see what we can do.
