West Point Crappie 7/29/22

After two humbling trips to Oconee, I had to get my mojo back and West Point is my go-to-place. The fish are stacked up on timber in the cove pockets and channel edges in 30-45 fow. The schools were varying between 15-25’ deep around the timber and they looked like a disco ball on the Humminbird Helix SI. The hot color this week goes to the Bobby Garland Baby Shad in Monkey Milk attached to a 1/16oz jighead. The schools were feeding but wanted the bait on the drop so you had to see the twitch on the line because you didn’t feel a thump. What a epic day catching everything except a green carp! Multiple hooks with catfish, hybrids, spots and a new one for me at WP, 2 perch. The Fill the Freezer 2022 Tour continues even during the hot weather. So get there early and feel the thump because once it gets hot, they completely shut off.
