If you think this is right for you, go to Interstate Battery and purchase the used batteries they sell. They get them in from Wal-Mart, Pep-Boys, etc and send them in for scrap. Before they do this they charge/check each battery. You will be amazed at the batteries turned in just because they are not charged properly. I buy these at 20.00 each and have never had a problem. Interstate reconditions and charges the good ones. I have used these for over 6 years and have had no complaints about the batteries. One will give up the ghost now and then after being used for a couple years, but all in all its hard to beat 'em. I buy and use only the deep cycle type since I use them for Flounder gigging, shrimping and also nite stalking, plus trolling motor use when spiderrigging.Quote:

Do all places that sell Interstate batteries sell the used ones?? Like the marine places or where do I find the used ones??
I get mine down in Aiken. I get just the deep cycle and use them for gigging, shrimping, and trolling motor when Spiderrigging. Try a Interstate or other battery business in your area. When the used batteries come in they are checked for bad cells, shorts, etc. These go to the recycler for teardown. The ones that will hold a charge are cleaned, checked, recharged. They are not available all the time so you may have to make a couple trips but talk to the counter man, get on the list and maybe he'll set a couple aside for you.Quote:
