batteries/auto or marine

What do most use for your batteries to run your lights ,trolling motors and depth finder. Cheaper auto batteries or the deep cell marine batteries. I even found with my marine battery that my depth finder goes blank when my trolling motor is running at high speed. I'm thinking that the deep cell ones are for the boat engines with a key start and just the plan auto zone car batteries would work for everything else. Is this right??

id use the deep cycle battery if i could afford it laserdoc..they usus have more reserve amp capacity for those long uses between charges.they are designed to be depleted time and time again.most auto batteries get charged during use with the alteranator,so they dont take well to being discharged completley between charges. hope this helps..

is it a marine starting battery or a deep cyckle . i use deep cyckle for all my boat needs . i did git a deal on 3 marine starting batteries . i use them for starting onley . @ $35.00 a pice i couldn`t turn them down .outbord charging system don`t put out but 8 amps . some of the newer ones might put out more . my pontoon has 4 batteries . one is a spare .one for cranking 1 for acc. and one up frunt for triling motor and troling depth finder . when the battery fgits week the depth finder will cut off . with a troling motor at high speed will draw a lot of current . i have never had a good battery to caus ethe probablem .

Auto Batteries All The Way.i Probably Dont Troll As Much As Most Of You But I Do A Lot Of Fishing.buy A Higher Price Auto With The Longest Warranty And You Can Trade It In At Wal Mart When It Gives Out.i Personally Think They Handle The Recharging Better Because Thats Whats Happening In A Car The Whole Tine It Is Running.just My Opinion.i Also Think They Sit Up Better Over Longer Non Use Periods Than Marine.

hmmmmm,,,Well I do know that a cell phone battery and a laptop battery(both rechargeable) do better and last longer if you do run them all the way down and then charge them up

Deep cycle batteries are pretty much the same way. Does'em good to be discharged real low sometimes. Oh, and Marine batteries definitely the way to go for your t.m. and lights and what not. Starting batt. cant take the cycling of discharging and recharging. My 2 cents, anyway.

I use marine deepcycle batteries for t/m and starting, I hook my depth sounders to the starting battery to avoid interference from the t/m. Charge both everytime I get home from the lake with a 10 amp charger. I'm planning on installing a third battery to handle the live well and bait well and lights.

Not sure, but ive heard that deep cycle batteries aren't good for the charging systems on outboards?

Yes, deep cycle batteries are marine, but you also have marine starting batteries for your outboard. Deep cycle batteries should cover your trolling motor.
