I was thinking about it being mothers day.... I remember when I was about 10 or younger. My dad took mom and I fishing on Lake Oliver in Columbus, Ga before daylight. We put out the lights and a fog came in on us so we started back in. We got lost. We could see nothing. First thing to come into view was the danger bouys at the dam. My mom was screaming.. My dad got scared too and the boat stalled and wouldn't crank.. We didn't have an anchor so my dad, and he will not admit this today, tied the boat paddle to a rope and threw it out to stop us.. Wood floats...lmao....now that was funny! I don't remember how we got in but I remember that wooden anchor...lol
We were always around the river on Mothers Day..

Can you imagine what great crappie fishermen Dawson and Jonathan will be after growing up fishing with shine, score and the knowledge gained from crappie.com and it's members. I'm trying to get my son to get off work to fish this one with me. I hope he can... Joshua if you read this at school or work... I'm leaving Weds(9th) or thurs.(10th)morning and coming home Saturday night after the fry. Talk to the camovision guys and get off....purty please...:)

Hello Crappie.com family. Last December I was kind of in a deep depression because of me not physically able to work any longer because of a back problem. One night in December I was just surfing the net looking for something about crappie fishing and I came upon Crappie.com. I like it so much I went ahead and joined right away.
Usually when you here about someone surfing the net you think of all the bad things out there like porno and the such. I was really impressed because Crappie.com is really a clean family fishing site. I have really gotten involved in this and look to staying with ya'll. I have met several new friends. One of those special friends that I have met is Mr. Robert Smith commonly known as "Falcon Smitty". It seems like to me that he is always working really hard to make sure that everyone is having a great time with Crappie.com.
Smitty, you and Crappie.com has helped me come out of my depression and see that there is light at the end of the tunnel. You inspire me to helkp others and I love that. I know that there are others that have helped you to make Crappie.com what it is today like Papa Sage and Birddog, but I just wanted to let you know what you mean to me and the rest of the Crappie.com family. Hey Smitty, if you ever get down you let me know and I will do everything in my power to get you back up. Just remember that I am always there for you. May GOD bestow his rich blessings upon you and your family.
12th good with me. I will most likely come up early Saturday rather than camp. Workload is kinda heavy right now. We will see how it goes.

The folks here on the Georgia Crappie.com are some of the best there are. Thanks to everyone for making this the best site around and enjoyable for everyone. Just look at the new members we have had join us in the last few months.
They don't get no better than Smitty. Man loves crappy fishing and he is good at it too. Proud to call him a friend.
bring momma to the slabfest
OK guys that's enough of this but Thank you all for your kind words.
Everyone makes these things work. All of you are great guys that have attended slabfest. I thank you all for coming. I also hope you will continue to bring your families. Wives I hope you will approve of our events. I want you all to feel welcome and comfortable about your children being there. I hope these events grow but stay just as they are now. I have recieved emails and PMs from possible sponsers. I told em next year starting with Talquin we will let some of them set up at Slabfest. That scares me kinda because I do not want us to become commercialized. The reason we need them is for the kids part of slabfest and we all like free stuff...right! I just want us to be in control so it doesn't become like CUSA, CAST or crappiemasters. They are great but are ran by and for companies to sell to a captive audience. I enjoy fishing those tourneys too but the fellowship and spreading of knowledge about crappie fishing is SLABFEST. We don't push religion but I hope that God feels welcome at slabfest.
