    Default Blackshear 3-18-18

Took my dad and he loved it. Army veteran asked me what the water temp was at the dock, 64 degrees. Headed out to the flats and it dropped to 58 degrees. First 2 hours caught 20 and next 2 hours caught 2. Again morning bite was everything! PWCs and wake boarders came out early. Bite knocked off and left around lunch with 22. Double 1/16th and dark colors as usual. 60 degrees mid day and am sure it got higher when the sun came out. Average filet size with 5 over a pound.

Congrats. Sounds like you two had a great time. Next time look shallower when the bite stops. Sounds like the fish left their deep haunts and started moving shallower in the warming sun. Either farther up in the water column or either farther back towards the back of the creeks in shallower waters. Something you can try anyways....

thanks for the report Chucky. I went yesterday with wife and caught 3. Never could mark them but i didn't try the channel edges. Long lined all the way to the back of Cedar creek caught 2 then moved to Collins branch picked up 1. Several guys were pitching trees but were having worse luck than me.
