I went to Lake Oconee this morning hoping to catch a few crappie. I began fishing mid lake at 7:30. I quit fishing at 3:45. The water was 81 degrees this morning and 85 degrees when I left. I pulled 8 long lines and to my surprise the early bite was very good. I caught lots of small fish but I also caught some keepers. I was busy catching fish and even had 2-3 rods going at once. I also caught a double on one rod and both fish were keepers. At 11:00 I moved to another location. I caught most of the fish during the morning and the biggest fish during the afternoon. As usual, this time of year, the fish were in the woods. I caught them in 20-25 FOW. I was pulling jigs at a depth of 8-10 feet. The fish didn't seem to prefer any one color and I caught them on the usual favorites, popsicle, john deere, blue ice and wildcat. I didn't expect to catch many big fish but I caught three 12 inches, two over 13 inches and one over 14 inches. All the fish I kept were 10.5 inches or bigger. At the end of the day I thanked them and released them all. It was a great day on the water. I haven't edited the video yet but if it is any good I will post it soon.
Great day on the water. Thanks for the post
