Amazes me fish are still deep with those water temps. Oconee and WP have been that way as well most of the time!

I went over and did some longline trolling. We did pretty good in the 4 days. The fish was biting about and hour or so after daylight and bout an hour or so before dark. During the day was pretty slow. We did catch some around the 15-16 inches but most were around the 8-10 inch mark. Most of the fish we caught were in 25-30 fow with jigs about 10-12 ft. Surface temp was 58 in the mornings and 61-62 in the afternoon. I'm heading back Mar. 3rd.
It's weird year for sure. Got some reports fish as shallow as 2 feet. Hope they stabilize shortly
I'm not saying all fish are shallow at Oconee but the ones being caught that I know of are real shallow. I caught some in 4FT of water today and caught 1 female that has already layed out. Water temp where I fished today was 66.5 when I left where I was fishing at 2;00
This is the mildest winter that i can remember since maybe the late 70's or early 80's. Hope it doesn't get cold in march. Fish will be definitely confused!
I'm headed back over Friday. I figured the water temp over there should be in the mid 60's with the hot days we been having but after the front moves through Wednesday its going to be cool again, maybe it won't mess them up for the weekend.
Early spring
And with that, I'll see you on the water...
