Jim and I fished Lake Oconee yesterday. The water temperature was 49 degrees when we left the ramp and warmed up to 51 degrees later in the day. The bite was very slow all day but the fish we did catch were very nice. I caught the first fish which was just under 16 inches in length. This fish hit the jig while we were deploying our rods. We weren't even moving yet. The rod was in the rod holder and it had about 4 feet of line out. The line couldn't have been more than 2 feet under the water. Crazy????? We ended the day with 8 fish. The smallest fish was 11.5 inches and 5 fish were 14 inches or better. The fish we found were still deep in the channel. I cleaned the fish this morning and they were full of eggs. It was another beautiful day. I hope you enjoy this video.
