    Default LAKE OCONEE 8/3/16

Jim and I fished Lake Oconee today. We began fishing about 6:45 a.m. and quit at 2:30. We caught at least 40 fish but only managed 16 keepers. The fish ranged from 10-11.5 inches. We pushed and pulled jigs as usual. The bite was steady until the sun came out around 2:00. When we finished today we decided we would wait for cooler weather before trying it again. The heat and slow bite are hard on us old guys. We had a good day (no minnows).

I wish I could complain about the heat and slow bite. Great catch for the conditions. 8 more weeks........8 more weeks.

Doug that is about right. You and I fished together on September 18 last year. We quit fishing at 1:30 and kept 28 good fish. The water temperature that day was 80 degrees.
