    Default Cork Fishing?

I didn't have time to do much fishing this spring. House projects and honey do list kept me tied up for most of the time. I spent more time thinking about fishing than doing it. I was thinking about all the things I had to do to get my rods and tackle ready to go. I am one of those that paint my rod tips so I can see them better. Then I had an idea. Why not put a cork on the end of my rod rather than paint. The few times I got to go, I think it is going to help me with detecting bites. It also rattles a little when you get a bite. Don't know if anyone else has tried this but I think it is going to help me. Hope this will help others that use long poles.

Now that's something new! Neat idea. Be sure to tell us all how it worked for you detecting those bites.

The few times I got to go Butch it worked fine. The only issue I had was the line going back in the slot. To solve that I put a piece of clear tape over the slot. On the new ones I sealed the slot with a bead of clear silicone. I'm sure that is going to work better.

The 3" cigar corks that I have had a slit cut in them. What I did was take my pocket knife and made the slit just a tad bigger. Not to big as you don't want the cork to be able to come off. Then work the cork back and forth to get it on the tip. Once the cork is on then cover the slit with clear tape or fill the slit with clear silicone.

Along that same line, I go to the dollar store and load up on light stick bracelets - usually a buck/dozen. Once activated, I attach to rod tips with electric tape. Or sometimes I tape the bracelet coupler on the rod and just insert the light stick as needed.
