Hugh Bryant's work looks just like the fish did when they were pulled from the water. He used to compete in shows but I haven't been to his shop in several years so I don't know if he still competes or not now. That said though...his work is outstanding. He is located in Lavonia, Ga and the name of his shop is Antler Creations Taxidermy. I cant show a fish mount cause I haven't caught that "3" lber yet though. Very close but no cigar............yet!:)
Here's one I had mounted a couple of years ago.
The shimmering irridescent colors on crappies, especially blacks, rarely shows in photos of mounts even though it is there.

I had one a bit over 2 lbs mounted on an antique brass stringer. Now one that big may not be that all that impressive but I plan on adding more 2+ pounders to the mount and a whole stringer full of 2-3 pound slabs should be something to see. I was a bit disappointed because it looked like a smallmouth paint job. No blacks or blues and definitely no iridescence.
Crappie mounts are some of the nicest
