Default Looking For A Local Crappie Guide

My son and I would like to find a local guide and go out and have them show us around one of our local lakes, Jackson or Westpoint, just to kinda' get familiar with where to go and how to do it. We aren't tryin' to find anyone else's honey holes, we just haven't been to successful with what we've been doing so far. I've go a boat and most of the gear required to catch a fish, but we're just lacking on the technique and familiarity of the lakes here. We aren't interested in tournament fishing or anything like that. We just enjoy fishing and time together and it would be much more enjoyable if we could catch a good mess to make a meal or two. I just don't know anybody personaly so I thought I'd ask you all for a recomendation. We've been to Jackson and Westpoint twice, and spent the whole Labor Day weekend on Blackshear and have yet to catch a crappie! Don't get me wrong we had a blast tryin' but we just want to catch some crappie instead of just fishin' for 'em! Any tips or advice is surely appreciated and I have learned ALOT from reading the previous posts on this site.

Banjo Picker, I am not a guide by no means. I can't help you out on Jackson or West Point but I'd be glad to take you and your son out to Blackshear with me one day. Blackshear is one of those "Hit and Miss" kind of lakes and I can't promise you that we'll catch a boat load of them but I'll help you in any way I can. It's getting that time of the year that the fishing for crappie gets fun. Holler at me sometime and we'll see what we can work out.

Thanks TnT! Blackshear is 2 hours from us and we went down there Labor Day weekend and stayed at a rental house. We had a great time! My daughter goes to ABAC college so we get to see her when we go down there as well. We will be going back there sometime in October and I will definitely holler at you when we decide. We didn't fish above the 280 bridge as I wasn't sure about navigatin' through all the timber. We stayed on the south side just below the Veterans Park. The Mayflies were hatching out and we only caught 1 striper and a catfish. Thank you for that generous offer and it would be a privelege and an honor to spend a day with someone who enjoys fishing, whether we catch anything or not!

will be over there some time after the 3 rd of October . my sister is coming and we planning on staying at the camper on the upper end of the lake for a few days .will be going back after she leaves . let me know when you will be there maybe we can hook up to fish or try . i have a pontoon boat over there and would have plenty room also have a 16 ft lows 40 hp 15 minute run with it . to fish the lake would have to run or haul the pontoon down to open waters . probably a 25 min. to git to 280 bridge .can fish the river or the stump fields . there are some good spots up there .
retired and now i will always fish
