Default It'll Be A Cold Day In...

It'll be a cold day in Georgia before I go back to Lake Blackshear! My fishing buddy and I made a 3 hour trip to Cordele yesterday. We arrived at the lake at 7. Ran from Veteran's Park down to Cedar Creek and was fishing by 8. At around noon, we heard these loud echos of something buzzing out in the main lake and before we knew it the jet ski's were on top of us. It was a scene for the X-Games. Our first thought was why are they coming in here (the creek) there's plenty of room in the main lake? So... we left there and went down to Swift Creek where all the 'cruiser ships' were. lol. My head is still swimming from all the waves. We thought this was a "fishing lake'.
Now for our true feelings... we had a blast! What a beautiful body of water. I saw a kid being pulled on an float. Now that had to be FUN! Due to the weather report and it being a Saturday, we knew it would be a busy day on the water. I don't blame anyone for getting out on the water for what I call the best weather all year.
The fishing... ya'll probably figured this out by now but this was our first trip to Blackshear. We caught a few small fish, pike, bluegill, crappie, striper. The highlight was DOCK SHOOTING for the first time. You talking about challenging. Our shots were all over the place. By the end of the day, we considered ourselves experts cause we caught one fish each while dock shooting. lol. Veteran's Park is a spectacle. On our way out, there were people fishing from the bank and off the bridge. I see why Papasage really enjoys this lake. We will be back! Hmm, night fishing?

i was in Cedar Creek with the wife we went way back and the boat traffic wasn't bad back there . there is a beat up slow idle bouie and that is where they turn around . i was in a grey lowes 16 footer stick steering boat . yes it was a rough ride back to the state park ramp . next time i will put in at Cedar Creek . or swift creek if i fish there . night fishing or early morning is best there . love camping at Ga. Veterans state park . i spent Sunday morning fishing the river at campers haven where i have a camper .

Ok. We were in a blue tracker with long rods all over it. Was the water better back there? I will be sure to consult with you before the next trip over there. Thanks for the info.
