    Default GA-LINA tournament on Oconee

COLD COLD COLD! After being in Hawaii for three years this is the coldest I've been in about four years. Air temp was below freezing and water temp was 57. We started tight lining fishing the timber in lick creek and the bite was pretty good with lots of pound fish caught. The wind was blowing pretty hard in our area so we decided to try sugar creek, cold run for my partner. We fished a local good spot and one boat was in the area when we arrived. Big fish was there for sure, just had to wait them out. Tipping taser jigs was the ticket again for the bigger fish as long as there was orange somewhere you got bit. In the past month I have fished three different lakes from Grenada to Oconee and these jigs has caught the big fish. Now is the time to stock up for the winter and spring bite. We got big fish with a 2.28 tree shaker mama and had several 1.3 and 1.1 fish. Also caught a five pound large mouth, fun to throw them back with bass boats flying by you. Oconee is going to produce some great fish within the next few weeks. Break out those long line rods soon.

Golf pro, I think I saw you pass a couple of times. Fish were biting pretty good for the conditions.

I am ready for that longline bite. This stretch of cold weather may keep them tight to structure and limit our time on the longline bite.

That is some hard core fishing -- will have to work my way into this weather slowly. Congrats on the catch, and thanks for the insights!

That might have been you in stumpy cove when I passed...was going to stop, but I assume that was your boat in there and I didn't want to crowd anybody tournament fishing...we went north to check some spots, but they weren't enough around for me to put out lines for long... went back south a little and did pretty well considering...wish I knew that was you...I woulda stopped and said hello...but of course I didn't see a hoovering Drone either!!! hahah...That's a super cool toy ya got!

Hand Held Rocket Launcher? One of my friends bought one and it malfunctioned and crashed. I think the warranty is going to fix it.
