i use longer pipe with mine and i like bamboo best . they will gather on it quicker . .if you sad the pipe it will build alga quicker.
i like bamboo better for attractant .planning on building some more for lake Blackshear if i can get the help and my back gets better .

Papasage put a coupling on them and make pole as long as you want you can haul them in boat these way.

Bamboo is by far better.

PVC works but has more cost.

didn`t think of that but i put mine out with a pontoon boat .
