I will mostly fish Talquin and some at Blackshear this year. I am a weekend warrior most of the fall-winter season.
I have a 17' aluminum G3. For the $$ I am looking at the V2 for $600. It has the foot pedai and can be adapted for co-pilot.
I would have to rig the sonar by wire the old fashioned way.
If I was retired like RAWHIDE and had his $$ I would go all out on the Terrova for $1600. I could fish more.
One question, which one is easier to deploy?
i have a auto pilot the older version with the flat plug auto quit and i replaced the eye and it quit . i did replaced the foot with a hand control that i won at talquin several years ago . had to change the end and put a jumper wire in it and it also works on my older one that don`t have auto pilot that is a 12 volt . like the auto pilot when it worked .

Go with the Auto Pilot V2....Otherwise you will be constantly be changing the direction of the trolling motor to stay on course. You want the capability of moving around the boat without worrying about the boat wandering towards , let's say, shallow water when you want to stay in the channel...Otherwise, you may as well keep what you have...If you don't go with the I-Pilot, you'll regret not going with the Auto Pilot....Just my :twocentsQuote:

Terrova is easiest to deploy and faster response. You want an ipilot for long lining Talquin, it controls speed and direction. You can usually find a used v2 with ipilot around 600. Or add ipilot later instead of copilot.Quote:

I have had and used them all. Spend more time fishing with a hand controlled 24 V vari speed motor.
Oh yea, you also catch more fish.
