    Default Oconee Thursday.

Did some tree dipping and caught some dark males down near the dam today. Fished up the lake and mostly throwbacks.

Nice catch 2@low8. The trees always hold fish but not many people fish them. Those are some pretty crappie. Wes

Nice fish. I know that the trees hold em' but how do you decide which trees to fish? Do you cruise until you see some on the fish finder?

Depending on the time of year, I look for trees in the mouth or look all the way to the back of coves next to ditches or creek channels. I'm also looking for bait fish near them. That's kind of a starting point. You have to figure out what are trees, bait, or crappie on your depth finder.
