Everybody has talked about line size, rods and rod lengths, what about boat style and setup that is optimal when dock shooting?
Question#1 Do you prefer to shoot from a bass deck or a seat that sits down in the boat if you had a choice?
Question#2 Do you prefer a cable driven bass style trolling motor or a Power Drive/Terrova type trolling motor?
Question #3 Do you use only your outboard when shooting docks going from dock to dock in close promixity to each other or do you drop the trolling motor?
Question #4 Do you prefer a tiller handle, stick steer or a steering wheel driven outboard?
Question #5 How far do you position the boat from the dock when shooting?

i like the stick steering best as i don`t have to git up to run the big motor .a few years ago i didn`t mind it . my pontoon boat works ok with my wife .she can`t shoot docks but keeps a minnow out around the edge to catch the ones that follow the jig out and don`t hit it .
Crappie pappy, One more question, this time of year the water temp is 75-80 here in Ga. So when looking for docks to shoot is there a specific water depth , or is there such a thing as too shallow or to deep of dock?? I know more shade is better but when looking at a lake map and trying to find docks by maps to key in on what would you look for?
