The wind was a killer on Blackshear today
I caught 12 keepers and a bunch of small ones before the wind ran me off Blackshear at 2pm. There was at least 1 ft rollers on the main lake this afternoon...10-15 by big ol'butt more like 15-20 with some serious gusts thrown in. Fish were scattered in the coves with most coming out of Swift. Longlined jigs with char/pink/char being the hot color. Tried to shoot docks and vertical jig the pylons at the 280 bridge and RR trestle, but the wind made it a no-go. Water color was good in the creeks but heavy stained in the main lake especially above the 280 bridge. Water temps were 63 above the 280 to 68 at the lower end. Some fish still had eggs in them.
All in all a good day despite the gale winds...caught enough for supper and got to be on the water for awhile. And I made a new friend at the truck when I was getting ready to pull out.
