    Default Sugar Creek 4/10/14

We fished Sugar Creek yesterday and ended the day with 34 crappie and 3 blue cats. The fish were caught on both sides of the bridge but most were caught at the mouth of the first cove on the left upstream from the ramp. We were pushing jigs and caught fish in 14 feet of water at a depth of 8-10 feet. The best colors were blue/blk/char, popsicle, and a blue and char tubby grub. The set-up consisted of a 1/16 jig head with 3/8-1/2 ounces of weight approx. 18 inches above the jig. There were very few crappie fisherman and a lot of bass fisherman. The water temp was 61 when we started and got up to about 64. Most of the crappie fisherman were fishing close to the bank.

Great fishing and technique report. Night fishing has been good for me last couple weeks.
