    Default Oconee 3-15

I fished Richland creek Saturday and didn't do to well. The fish were stacked up but I couldn't find what they wanted to bite. Nobody I talked to in Richland had caught very many. It looks like they were biting up on the north end of the lake. I caught 10 fish and they were all very nice in size. If my wife would have fished and not read her book we might have had 20 to 30 by the time we quit. It was a nice day and I was thankful to be fishing because I haven't got to fish this year. The fish are busting with eggs. They are wanting to break loose. I am sure there were some people that wore them out on Richland but not anyone I talked to. Good luck fishing, WesName: 100_4827.jpg

Nice job. Was tough on me yesterday at Oconee too. Long liners were kicking my butt and took a while for me to figure it out and I even pulled out some other style baits just to make sure, but they didn't help either. Seems so many boats passing over their heads had pushed the feeding fish down deeper than I thought. Fish we marked up high that would bite ended up being catfish and hybrids. Some days it is just like that for me. It's all good because I know there will be days that it will be just the opposite.

Richland side should be turning on very shortly. The next couple of warming trends and it should be on. We are now in mid March, it will happen soon, when mid to high 70 air temp sustains for 4 or 5 days. All the arms off Richland should come on line. Nice fish Slabby, like your boat.

Those will stink up a grease, good job.
I thought about giving you a call Saturday morning after my fishing partner crawfished on me...but I really don't like giving folks a call at 5 in the morning.

Thanks everybody for the support. Like I said I am just thankful to finally get to go fishing. Camotoy I think I have seen you casting to the bank in Rocky creek before. You do great catching them big crappie pitching to the bank. Dutch you should have called me, we might have been able to work something out. My wife didn't care if she went or not she just didn't want me to go by myself. I wish she would have fished though, we would have had at least 10 more fish or so, but she wanted to read her book and look at animals through the binoculars. I am glad she went, she is a great wife and it safer to have someone with you. It was a nice day and the fish are fixing to bust loose if it don't snow. LOL. Thanks Countrytime for the boat complement. I sure like having some room in the boat and being able to get somewhere on the lake without it taking forever. I had a 16 foot aluminum Fisher crappie boat for 19 years with a 25 HP and there was not much room and it had a top speed of 21 MPH. Wes
