Thread: Sinclair Today

Fred and I put in at Twin Bridges at 8 AM today and fished until 130 PM. We just got tired of catching fish that were born last month. We kept 21 with only 3 over 10". But OMG at the dinks that were no bigger than the jigs. We fished shallow and deep with almost all coming from 15-18 FOW. Color was Orange Lightwire hooks with Brown or Black/Blue bodies. Water was 52 early and 56 when we left. I did see some being caught under docks near deeper water but all were small. Heck, when you just come from Crescent Lake all these Sinclair fish are boring.

Know the feeling, those Crescent fish will spoil ya! Thanks for the report.

My boy and I went back to Sinclair Monday. Fish were smaller than Saturday. Biggest was 1lb 6 oz. Time to fish other lakes. Rooty Creek 57 degrees. Stream plant 61 degrees.

What's the deal with Sinclair crappie? Are they overpopulated making it too competitive for food or is Sinclair lacking in some environmental component that crappie need in order to thrive? Maybe it's being over-fished and the dinks is what we got left.

from what i have herd every 5 years there will be a lot of small crappie .small ones will grow up just put them back and wait on them to grow up.l

I have been fishing up at Sinclair for over 50 years and I have no idea why the crappie are so small. DNR sure don't know.

Why are we catching 3 and 4 inch Specs in late February? If I were the King of Sinclair there would be a law requiring everyone to keep or kill every Crappie landed.

Danbo, that is the funniest thing I have ever heard, "Catching fish born last month!" If I can get permission from you, I would like to include that maxim in my repertoire??

You should do good next week. I think they will be rolling in just fine in those creeks by then!!
