    Default Sinclair 2-17-14

Tough day at Sinclair...a HEAP of boats trolling. Nothing like a little combat crappie trolling, lol.

Water temp was 55* got up to 58* by the plant, water was heavy stained, only dark colors would draw fish, best colors blue/black char, red/black/char, Tennessee shad/char and black/char. Fish were scattered, which isn't surprising since the water was beat to a froth from all the trollers.

Caught 18 keepers (9 in or better) with another 10 short fish threw back. 2 biggest were 1.12 and 1.5 (the cat was 8lbs, alot fun on a 12ft crappie rod).

That's what happens when you have a monday holiday during crappie season combined with a beautiful day. Can't stir'em with a stick. Glad you had a nice catch. Andy-1Cove

I counted 23 boats that morning in the cove on the left side, I don't know how many was on the steam plant side as I did not fish over there.

I need to find me a good Klingon or Romulon cloaking device so I can foller Dutch around and figger out how to catch summa them Sinclair mud breathing crapppies. Me and Larry done perty good but Dutch's were bigger.

It's a good thing he didn't have any of Tony's light purple multi-colored metalflake and chartreuse curly tails or the rest of us prolly woulda had to go home with our tails tween our laigs.

I didn't count as many boats as Dutch, course I'm older and can't see as good as him and it was cold and I had shoes on that kept me from countin higher than ten. Larry told me this morning that he counted ten boats too and that brings the total number we seen to twenty, which is close to Dutch's count.

Our littlest ones were around seven or eight inches and we didn't cull anything. Larry sez if they're big enough to hook ther're big enough to cook.

Good job and good report, Dutch!

You don't have to hide. I don't care if someone wants to follow me, plenty of fish in the lake. And where would I get some of them purple colored jigs?

Alritie then! If you'll put one of them little flags on your boat like the ones that come with Bass Pro Shop's Big Wheels I be able to recognize you. Otherwise I'll have to try to git Larry to drive the boat while I try to find you with my binoculars and I aint sure Larry can drive too good while facing backerds. Besides I gits a little queazy looking through binoculars while riding in a movin vehicle.

Better yet, give us a holler when you see us and I'll give you a few of them bodies to try, and then I'll know be able to recognize you and save all the cloak and dagger stuff. I got my jigs from Tony Allen (luremaker 358) in Danville.
