I was gearing up today for a fishing down in Florida this weekend and decide I better shoot some grease in my bearings. Upon further examination I realized my rubber seals around my hubs had holes in them.(Both sides). I knew right away it was them buzzards from Coes landing. I have already replaced my windshield wipers twice. I really hope they didn't messed up the nipple. Will know more after I pull the trailer a couple hundred miles this weekend!
The only "easy" day, was yesterday!

I've read several other comments about the buzzards eating just about anything rubber or possibly black plastic off of vehicles at some boat ramps in FL. hard to believe, but apparently true. Try putting some hot sauce on something and see what happens. LOL

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.MulletHead LIKED above post
Up here in Ohio we also have problems with ground squirrels or chipmunks or mice chewing the valve stems off tires, campers, boats, etc. It's so bad, I'm putting steel valve stems in now. We also had squirrels eat the rubber seals over the slide out on our camper in Myrtle Beach. Had to replace the whole seal!

Buzzards have been known to eat the seals off doors & rubber parts of windshield wipers on the vehicles around parts of Kentucky, as well. Bad as that is, they also scratch up the paint job, walking around on the vehicle's hood.
I've got bearing buddies on my boat trailer wheels, so I don't worry about "that" happening to me ... but, boy howdy, would I be seriously hacked off to come back & find buzzards chowing down on my vehicle's door seals & windshield wiper blades.

If they eat something of mine, you will have to ban me. I am proud to be from the south and we exterminate nuisances. That could have left you on the side of the road. I highly recommend using high bluff landing when fishing that area of the lake. By the way there is great fishing at the mouths of all the creeks right now.
