    Default Pick a lake question

    All

I'm off from work for 4 days next weekend and indecisive as to where me and the little woman will go. I've fished all of the middle Ga lakes( westpoint,Oconee,Sinclare) and was wanting to try something different but as you all know going to a new lake can be a challenge. So I'm looking for input as to what ya'll think or would do. Thanks

How far are you willing to travel and/or are you willing to stay overnight?

From one Traveling Man to another, stay home for another week and maybe this arctic blast will be over. If you must you might want to try Clark Hill. It has the largest Crappie in the state.

I did well at Eufaula in the cold last year. I am going to try it in the next week or so.

I would agree with Crescent or that area of Florida for best weather and bite. Most lakes in Ga are a little tough as the weather has fish on the move and spread out. Many lakes have experienced major shad kills due to the cold which have kept crappie full and lethargic. Talquin very seldom is slow but even it is now. Though, it should turn on in coming days as they begin to stop pulling water. I also like Lochloosa this time of year. If you can not make Florida, then I would hit Westpoint. Always a good bite there, just not many in 2 pound range.
