I agree...But terrain means alot...I was pulling chains one windy day at Talquin...To make a long story short, my chain is still on the bottom of that lake. I have 2 - 5 foot logging chains tied to rope with a hook on the end that I can hook onto the cleats on either side of my boat. Like Rees said, it will be the boat straight. In extremely windy conditions, I will let enough rope out to where all 5 foot of chain is dragging the bottom. Other times I try to only let 2-3 foot drag the bottom. Trial and error and wind speed will dictate what is going to work best....Just my :twocents
