Default Calling all Lowrance Elite 5/ Elite7 owners !

How do you like your units? Is the downscan imaging on these units showing the tree limbs and fish adequately? Thinking of pulling the trigger on an Elite7 with chartplotter.

Have you checked out the Dragonfly by Ray Marine? Don't know anything about it yet. Might be something to look at.

Thanks Spiderman, just finished looking at it on several videos. This I think this maybe what the doctor ordered. The downvision looks comparable to a HDS unit. Even though the screen size is smaller I think it will be sufficient for the just the downvision screen which is what I'm wanting mainly to do with it. Again thanks a million, great info!

Read a post on the electronic forum where the dragonfly lost all history when changing views. Just a FYI for ya.

    CT,
I just got an Elite 7 DSI. It has the 2d and down imaging. Reason I went with that is I have heard several complaints about the down scale clarity and readability so to be safe I wanted a unit that would do both and you can run both images side by side on a split screen to help interpret what you are looking at.
Gregg at BBG Marine, a sponsor on here, gave me a super price on the unit, good bit less than BPS and I got it in just a couple of days.
I am not far enough into using it to tell you how well it works (or doesn't) but I had a HB with 3.5 inch screen so I am loving the 7 inch screen.

Thanks for the info fellas, I narrowed it between the Elite7 DSI and the HDS7 Touch. After further study on the Dragonfly I axed it off the list. Interesting in a few years maybe, after more refinement. BBG Marine will be my purchasing place once I decide which one.

I think you will be much happier with the HDS 7....Both are good units tho.

The problem is the Touch 7 will reach out and touch my billfold! Trying to hang on to that dollar so tight that teardrops are coming from George Washington's eyeballs. May have to clean the teardrops up and relax the death grip.
