Lick Creek or Long Shoals ??

I've been fishing out of Long Shoals on the last few night fishing trips and have done real well as far as the number of fish that we've caught. But the size of fish we are catching is just OK. I've fished anywhere from about 20-35 FOW, main channels and lots of structure. Is there anyone out there fishing Lick Creek?? What size fish are you catching ?? From what I've read in most books and forms, I've gathered that different year class of fish "size" usually group up together this time of year. I'm thinking about going Friday night if the storms will let me, does anyone have any suggestions??

Was working Augusta wed & thurs they opened the flood gates on the damn for the first time in 20+ years a lot of water going through the lake. Read where they had a lot of the ramps closed

Wow open the flood gates ..what does that mean for Clarks Hill will it start to cloud up or just what will or should you expect

I've had the same experience. Tons of small fish at Long Shoals but not the slabs that I used to catch at this location. I have been favoring more northern areas of Oconee and I must say that while the number of fish hasn't been real high, the quality has gone up considerably. I'd rather come home with 10-15 fish in the 1.5-2.5lbs range than to have 40-50 fish and most are dinks. As a matter of fact, I just purchased a net last week because of the large crappie that have been snapping my lines (4-6lb test) as I try to hoist them into the boat. Also, I'm switching to braided line from mono.

I have always fished the Big Hart and Raysville area. I have always looked for humps (20-30 FOW) surrounded by deep water. If the hump has trees it works best. I also like to fish from the last Q moon to the first Q moon as you want the dark moon. This has worked for me for 20 years up there. You get very few dinks.

2.5 pound range.This week on Oconee?

We fished Sinclair last trip and we caught some 14 " fish but 90% were dinks.

Dinks actually cook up real good.
