Default Anybody wanna go fishing tomorrow?

    Hello all,

Newbie here, name's Boedy. I live in Decatur, GA. For those of you that don't know, it is inside the perimeter and you could just say that I live in Atlanta if you wanted to. I just moved here about 6 months ago and had no place to store my boat, so I'm boat less. I was thinking about going to Charlie Elliott WMA. I have never caught a Crappie, but not for a lack of trying. This year I'm gonna try to go as much as possible between now and well..... pretty much just for the rest of my life, but what I'm trying to say is this springs spawning seasons for both Crappie and Bass.

Please don't be shy, I'd love a fishing partner and more than anything- a mentor. I'm freakin tired of not catching anything. I'm in search of those days that I see pictures of when everyone catches their limit and start dropping off the smaller fish as they continue to catch bigger ones.

    Boedy

Welcome to the Ga. Board. If you would like to go catch some crappie and learn a lot about catching them you may want to hire a guide since you do not have a boat. Falcon Smitty and BIGFISHHEADS on here are excellent guides and great guys. Falcon Smitty usually fishes Bartletts Ferry and Doug usually fishes Oconee. Either way they are both an easy ride on I-75 or I-85.

    Boedy,

Im also new to this site as of yesterday. I live close to decatur and try and crappie fish daily. A good place for you to start is Charlie Elliot on Bennett and Margery Lake in the next month or so(first warmer weekend) . Cast crappie minnows on a hooked with a weighted bobber. You will do good from the bank.

Also, google Constitution lakes (east Atlanta).

Good luck and keep your crappiestacks up!

I grew up in the Atlanta area and there are plenty of places close by to catch crappie....Some even in DeKalb County....Check out the lake at Stone Mountain Park.

    Default Missed your post........

Let me know when you want to go...........
I fish Allatoona quite a bit and can always use a deckhand to work the back rods when I am trolling......
Weekends are usually reserved for my First Mate (Girlfriend) but I fish through the week quite a bit.......

Geeze! Bulls Bay, I would love to go fishing with you. Never had a chance to hit Allatoona, it's not that far from me and I'm a damn good deck hand. What times do you usually fish, and when are you finished? Although I'm old (36), I am a full time student and could probably work something out during the week. Most of my classes start around 1pm, shouldn't be a problem to get back if I leave Alatoona around 11am or so. Anyways, would love the opportunity to get out on the lake- and thanks for the offer.
