Here we go again!
Went to Brushy Branch this past Tuesday. Water was down 5 ft could not use the ramp. Used gravel area beside ramp to unload. Probaly 25 boats there at 10 am. and could only put in one at a time. Mother Nature was giving a good dose of Spring Fever to help with releiving Cabin Fever that most Fishermen suffer with this time of year. Fished in Brushy Channel for a while but so much boat traffic fishing was allmost impossible. Went to the River and the river was clear but the current was to fast to do any bottom-bumping upstream. Water was too low to get into any coves or inlets except back into Brushy. Caught approx. 15 bottombumping structure with minnows. Only had 6 keepers. Released all fish.
Here came the rain on Wed. and I had 2 3/4 inches in rain gauge this morning. Im sure I cant fish the Coosa for another week due to high water levels and current. Checked level this morning and it has risen 2 ft. this morning. It will probaly take 2 days more before river crests. Cabin Fever is allready coming back. I can handle it but I sure hope this dont screw up the Crappie Spawn. Good Fishing All. BB
