November is still several months away, but we are already planning our "Get Together" for the third year in a row on November 10, 2012. It looks like this is turning into an annual event. This years "Get Together", will have a little twist this year combining "The Big Fish Throwdown" in with it against the members at Lake Monroe. This will be their chance to redeem themselves...The last "Throwdown" wasn't as exciting as the Lake Monronians wished for and the weather (at least the wind) played a big part of that for both lakes...OK, who am I fooling...That was their excuse anwayRofl...Lake Talquin weighed in some really good fish
I know this is gonna be a huge decision on Slapcrabstu and 65 Pontiac from FL to decide where to fish because we know they want to be on the winning lake this time
...So getting back to"The Get Together" you have a few months to make your plans to attend in November. We may do a thing or 2 different this year to make it a bit more exciting..Or at least a little more "Entertaining"...That will be announced later.. I believe we had 40-50 folks there last year and it went over real well. Hope to see some familiar faces this year along with some new faces....The number for Lake Talquin Lodge is 850-627-3822 to make reservations. Looking forward to another great turn out this year and always looking forward to the great hospitality that we recieve from the Leverettes at Lake Talquin Lodge!!!

I will at some point make it to Talquin this fall. You fellers have a ball and post lots of pics. Best of all we will be together that day just a couple hundred miles apart.
Boom Boom I just posted this all over the State of Florida !!!!!
The Lake Talquin annual MEETING BEHIND THE TREE IN THE YARD or something like that, is November 10th and we had tentatively planned to have our Lake Monroe Slabfest on the same day so we could simultaneously have the Semi-Annual Monroe/Talquin Throw down. But, that may interfere with some folks that are planning or would like to attend the Talquin event. So, after talking to some very important and knowledgable people it was decided to get some input on this. I know last year some of our group attended the Talquin event and it’s something I would like to do also. I know it’s a long time away, but what else do you have to think about? ….the weather has put a damper on the fishing anyway. We still might get in a little friendly competition on which group catches the biggest fish that day.
Post your thoughts and ideas!!
Mike
I think it is a GREAT idea, Mike....We all really enjoyed the last Throwdown in March even tho we were 200+ miles away...To have both groups at the same lake at the same time, plus any other Crappie.com members would probably qualify for the Southeast's first Super Slabfest...Lake Talquin Lodge would never be the sameI just don't think we would feel right having even a friendly competition on our home lake....but if you insist!!!Rofl...I think it is a great idea and we have plenty of time to plan and prepare for it...Just let us know what you guys decide and we'll go for it

Be glad to share my boat ....course all the fish would count for "Team Talquin" Winners of First Annual Lake Talquin Vs Lake Monroe Throwdown. .........Just had to throw that in......
