    Default Lanier crappie on 5/18/12

Acually got up early to do some bass fishing, fished for a couple of hours and pulled into a cove with some brush in it and just had to pull out the crappie rod and I'm glad I did. I caught maybe 45-50 some real nice fish to some dinks, but kept a good mess to eat. All were caught in 10 fow or less on a black and blue jig with chartruse tail 1/16 oz.http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/...g/2c1e81ab.jpg

Nice! Looks like you need to quit fishing for those green carp and concentrate on dem crappies.

That is a good one. I allways keep a Crappie rod with me when Bass fishing, I have some good spots up the river and down the lake too. If you go after the bass again the top water is working good right now, Good Luck.

Thanks I will give it a try, been mainly crappie fishing. I really enjoy bass fishing, its just a little new to me I got my first bass boat last year and having a ball in the lake. Living in north Ga I have trout fished all my life and most of that is with a fly rod, so having a boat has been great.

I hear ya on the boat and living in North Ga. I have had my boat for over 20 years, I would fix it quicker than the car. I use to fish just about every day, when I got off work I could be on the lake in less than 30 mins. Got a bad back and knees so don't get to go as much, just can't go as often as I would like, got lots more time now but wore the old body out, started work at 15 married at 17. Then got snached off a wall I was pumping and the outriggers gave way and the pump truck about fell down the hill, could have killed the crew and the owner of the Comp. was just worried about the wall.Thats life.
