I went out this past weekend with limited sucess. We were long line trolling and got a few, but i think we were going over the fish. A guy next to us sunday afternoon was pulling up a few spider rigging. The fish on my finder were holding 8-10 ft. We will be back at it soon, and I'm going to put the jigs a little deeper next time.

The wife and I spider rigged in sugar creek and caught 2. One was 1lb 10oz and other was 1lb 8oz. I was trolling as slow as I could go and in 12-15ft of water. Had minnow tipped jiffy jigs set at various depths but the ones catching the fish were the ones with a pink head, blue body and the rainbow glittery looking tail. I caught those at 6ft deep. Fish finder was showing fish anywhere from 4 to 10 ft. The 2 I caught showed fish at 8 ft and then all of the sudden I got bit. Then we took a boat ride to Lick creek and she managed to catch one @ 1lb 6oz in 10ft of water. She was sitting in the back of the boat holding my dock shooting rod with a minnow, split shot and cork about 4-5ft from the hook cast about 50ft behind boat while I spider rigged. I managed to catch a 5lb striper on my 12ft BnM when I went through the seagulls but that was it.
Over all I think things should get a lot better soon. The 3 fish I fileted still had eggs in them and several I talked to said the same. As soon as the weather stabilizes and these cold fronts stop pushing them out deeper I believe we will see them near the banks dropping eggs. Hope this helps.

I dont know what the rain and cool weather will do to 'em but dont forget to look shallow if youre not catching many in deeper water. Probably caught 40 fish in water less than 8' deep on the hill 2 days ago.

Water temp in the back of the creeks and coves got up to 64/65 yesterday. We stopped trolling pulled out da cane poles. We caught a good mess of quality fish in 5 FOW fishing 3 foot deep with minnows. The water looked good all up Richland Creek.Name: IMAG0312.jpg
