Default Good day to bad day on Jackson 2-22

Good:Fished jackson again today. Fish were hiting pretty good, brought home 33 real nice slabs. 10-15 fow, tight lineing. Had three fish over 2lbs one close to 3lb. Did throw back as many as we caught though. water was 54-57

Bad: The hole is still in reasors ramp and my trailer found it. Put in there the last 5 trips with no problems, my buddy backed my trailer in today to get ready to leave and the trailer disapeared. By the time he figured out what was going on he tore a tire and rim up and bent my axle and hub pretty bad. I pulled my crippled trailer with the boat on it back up to the shop to ask the guy working if we could drop the boat there for a bit to run to the house to get a few things to fix it to get it road worthy again. Before I could get my question out of my mouth, the guy got very offensive saying that I ran off the side of the ramp. Keep in mind I never accused him of anything nor was I rude by any means. The guy proceeded to draw me a picture of the ramp and how the cement only goes down in the center not the whole 60 ft. that is paved. Good to know now. My buddy just figured that as long as he was on the cement then he was ok, but by no meens was he far left or right. There are barrells there but they are 50ft from the water and I thought they were there to keep people off the new cement that was recently put down. He also laughed and told me that a guy busted a 24ft. pontoon on his ramp this morning.

I not bad mouthing no one nor am I trying to hurt anyones buisness, but I just thought it was "crappie" that the guy thouhgt it was funny that people keep tearing their equipment up at his ramp. Also this guy did not offer a drop of help in getting us back on the road when he is sitting there in a shop with tools galor.

I just thinking today that jackson should be on fire. I wish now I wasn't leaving for weiss friday! Leaving a lake I know like the back of my hand to fish a lake I've never even seen before!
that hole cost my buddy$ 700 ,I wish theyed hurry and fill the lake up so we wouldent have to worry about it.

Anyplace else to launch a boat from?

I was thinking of heading to Jackson next week and trying out some new water.

Go to the Lloyd shoal Dam on the south end of the lake a good double ramp. I saw a 24 footer putting in there last week.

It's ashamed the guy at the ramp knew somebody could do that kind of damage and never say anything. His day is coming and he just dont know it yet.

On a brighter note...congrats on the catch.Thumbs Up

Yeah really ...he just wants that$ 5 he had part of it roped off last time I was there (few weeks ago) but where it was roped ain't where I remember the hole being when I helped my buddy get unstuck.

Berrys is good also. You can put in on either side but I always pull out on the left cause the other side slopes and my boat ends up crooked on the trailer

Boat ramps in my eye should be square. If you pay 5$ to launch he shold be responsible for an unsafe ramp. Pure and simple a act of and a property owner that would be calling his insurance company alot. Intil some one gets in his face he's not going to do nothing about it. When I back down a ramp I expect the landing to be square at the end...He must have a friend near by that fix's trailers......

I bet Jackson is on fire today...this weather is perfect today. I have always had good luck at Berry's as well.. kinda steep, but gets the job done.
Just me, a buddy, and an old Procraft with 12 fishing poles!
