Not Bad for 2 hours

I decided not to head to the lake this morning after the deluge last night...so I poured jigs for my upcoming week long trip to Eufaula.
300 heads in 2 hours, just have to paint them now.

Just like reloading...pouring my own heads is some of the best money I have spent.

Time well spent and they'll work just fine like they are or you can spent a little time and powder coat them. And then there the other option of powder coat them and spend a lot of time adding eyes and a clearcoat. That's how I do and have to admit it's more for me than the fish.

I asked a "well seasoned" crappie fisherman and jig maker one time just how important the color of the jig head was. His answer was "It's only as important to the fish as it is to the fisherman'....Unless the bite is really slow and the fish are really picky, I don't think the jig head color matters too much...Just my opinion!!

I use spray paint to paint them. A base coat of white or grey and then apply color of your choice...I usually do Red, Flor. Yellow, Flor. Orange, Flor. Pink, Black, White.

I will add eyes using a small metal rod then clear/gloss coat them. I hang and spray in sets of 25 using welding rods as holders.
