i would like to know why people don t fish for crappie year around . i do and i bring home a lot of them i mean some slabs too i don t have aboat i fish from the bank i don t use led on my line all i take is hooks and floats at night i use submersible lights and floating lights then i start chumming for crappie with crush minnows and guts and give them about 1/2 hour and hear they come sometimes i walk the hole lake and sometimes i make the crappie come to me

There are alot of us that fish for crappie year around. I personally do not because I don't take the heat like I did when I was younger. I usually give the fishing a break between July and September and work all the overtime I can so I can start back around October with the time and $$$ to fish.

I fish fer dem Crappie 12 months out of the year and if Obama adds a 13th Month, I will fish it also. I fish both rivers and lakes. I really like the river in the summer and rivers are overlooked by most. The 2nd best crappie hole in the SE is in a river.

Agree with TNT. Heat and work! Throw in some High School football and deer hunting, makes for a full year. Now I have been waiting for the "CHANGE" that was promised to us in hopes of being able to quit work and just fish. Guess I'll just be blessed to still have a job!

I will get gobbler fever in the spring for a month or so. Then the saltwater flats get me. Then in hot summer the early morning brim get me. Then through october the salt flats again, then winter speckled perch fishing. The cycle goes on and on.

My wife says I fish year round and more. Throw in a little deer hunting( gun and bow), dove shooting, sporting clays, golf, work and I dont even have time to sleep. Caught some real nice uns last Friday at Oconee and eat dem tonight! YUM YUM.

i fish anytime i can . some time the heat and water lice and big skie boats gits me off the lake but if the river is up i will fish it .

The heat gets me too but I found a way this summer to still catch some good slabs from day light till 12. Love the salt water in the spring. Wish I had time to get down there right now in the tidal creeks. I fish probably 40 weekends a year and a few weekdays when I get some time off. Sometimes cheaper than hunting and I have let the hunting go this year to fish.

Interesting you fish from the bank, chum, and use lights. Welcome aboard. Look forward to some reports and pics.

here is some good info for people that don t have fishfinders or other froms of sonares when you "re struggling to locate a good school of crappie without a fishfinder or other forms of sonare or bank fishing after catching the first fish take a small hook and run it through the dorsal fin then the a bobber with ten or fifteen foot of line turn it loose the fish goes right back to its school now you have found the fish when you catch the second fish make mark on the line now you have located the depth of the fish
