    Default Weekend weather

Looks good on the forecast for Talquin. I am looking forward to it. I want to show Rawhide how to troll.

I have fished Blackshear years ago when I lived in Albany. I plan on hitting it this winter. What facilities do they have at the Smoak Creek Bridge now?

At the 300 bridge there is only a small ramp & limited parking. There is (or was) a bait store back in Warwick on your left coming from the South. Should be ok if you get there early. If you come up a few more miles (past Striplings & Salt Lick stores) and turn left on Coney Road, then a few more miles take a left on Cedar Creek Road (just over the small bridge) there is another one lane ramp with limited parking but you will be in the middle of the lake. Shorter run to a lot of good areas.

Is it a safe place to leave the truck?

Should be ok. I haven't heard of anything lately. Unless you just want to fish the South end, drive the 15 minutes or so around to the State Park or Radz BBQ & then you can fish & eat on the water.

Eating over the water sounds nice.
