Anyone going to Oconee this weekend? The wife and I were thinking about going sunday. The weather looks to be decent this weekend. How is the fishing been lately? I may have to change up my tactics. The whole month of October through about the middle of November we had good luck tightlining in the Stumps @ sugar creek in 20 feet of water catching the fish about 8-10ft deep.
Where are they now? I am an avid tightliner so is there any hopes for me? Lol. I am set up to spider rig too but I have yet to have any luck with that yet so I need to perfect that one of these days.

Just got back home from Oconee. Fished all day. Spider rigged over some points and drop offs and tightlined in the stumps in sugar creek. Nothing. Not even a bite or nibble. This is where crappie fishing gets to me. Im sure some of you pros could go right now and catch a limit easy. But me. Nope. Lol. I am learning though. End of september through about the middle of Nov they were holding close to structure and I could catch them fairly easy tightlining. Now it seems they have scattered out to where I don't know.

I fished Oconee yesterday from daylight to noon and caught 20 Lbs of thick slabs Spider rigging jigs tipped with minnows. The bite got a little slow around 10 am, but the water temp was 55 deg and the big ones were hungry! fishe 5-8 ft deep in 14-16 fow over bushy bottom in major creeks.....going in am...try to get em again!
