Well the wife and I went to Oconee yesterday and tightlined in the stumps between main lake and sugar creek bridge. Caught one 1.5lb crappie the whole day, one bass and hooked something that took my bait and he ran straight away from the boat and pulled 75yds of line off my ultralight reel on my crappie rod and finally broke the line. Probably a striper or a big cat.
I guess the fish are scattered now and my tightlining technique that has paid off from the end of september until the 2nd week in November is finally over. Now I just have to learn to spider rig and longline. Tried spider rigging down through the stump fields and there were gazillions of fish showing up in schools at 12ft deep and I had my jigs/minnows at 10-12ft and no bites. Tried going as slow as my motorguide would let me and even sped it up some. Nothing.
